That's right! What other Movie Reviews site actually takes requests?! Before you make any requests for Brian and Benn to review a specific motion picture title, please look over the guidelines listed below. Follow the guidelines as close as possible, so your request is taken seriously and performed in a timely manner. Answered requests may appear among our posted reviews or in an episode of Brian and Benn's MP3 Movie Talk Show! Thank you for your interest and request!
- KNOW Your Movie's Title! There's no way we are going to take
a request seriously if you don't know its actual title; no requests for "The one movie with Joan Cusack where
she's a mom and her brother is a kick boxer in love with this other girl." We don't need the synopsis, just
the title. If you're unsure of the title, use the Internet Movie Database
(www.imdb.com)
to search for it.
- Clarify Your Request! Sometimes, many times actually, two
or more motion pictures have the same title. When you request a title for review, please try and include any
actors and/or directors involved in that production. It would be best if you included the year the movie was
released, if possible. If you don't know it, that's okay. However, we may end up reviewing the wrong movie
without clarity. Example: "Psycho" starring Vince Vaughn 1998.
- Make Sure Your Request Is Rentable or In Theaters! We like obscure movies as
much as the next guys. However, if you request a title that is so obscure it's down right impossible to
find, than we'll never get to it. A good rule of thumb is, make sure you're title is stocked at franchise rental
stores, so we have an easier time locating a copy. Movies which are still in theaters may not be in
theaters in our area. We will do our best to find a screening and see it, but sometimes we have to wait for
its DVD release.
- No Children's Movies and No Porn! Even though we can be harsh
in our reviews, DockRatEnt.com considers itself a family safe website, therefore we will post no reviews
for pornographic movies. Don't bother requesting reviews for anything like "Clockwork Orgy" and
"Schindler's Lust." However, this does not mean we care to do reviews for "The Brave Little Toaster" either.
We are always willing to review "B-Rated" movies, which include shameless T&A, or motion pictures depicting the
pornographic industry like "Boogie Nights." Our general rule will be, if it has an MPAA rating between
PG and NC-17, we will write and post a review for it. "UnRated" Director's Cuts are generally okay too.
- Requests Are First Come, First Serve! We will review requested
movie titles in the order they are received, especially when we receive an abundance of them. Be assured,
we will review and post your requested title as fast as possible, but please don't send us a follow up email
asking, "Hey, where's the review for the movie I asked for?!" However, you are more than encouraged to post
ANY comment in the DockRatEnt.com guestbook.
- Request as Many Times as You Want! There's is no limit on the
amount of requests you make to us. However, only request one title at a time, and we ask you wait until THAT
title has been reviewed and posted before you make another request.
- Requests Can Be an Open Dare! Some of our regular visitors and
readers enjoy the slams we make on movies we absolutely despise. Therefore, do not be afraid to request a review
for a movie that YOU absolutely hate. We will take requests for movies both loved and hated, and also one's you
haven't seen yet.
- Save What YOU Think For the Guestbook! After we review the title
you have requested, you may not agree with what we thought of it. GOOD. We welcome you to post YOUR thoughts
about our reviews in the DockRatEnt.com guestbook at any time, even if its to tell us how great we are or
how far we have our heads shoved up our...well, you get the idea. However, please refrain from including your
thoughts on a certain movie title WITH your requesting email.
- Please Include Your Name and Age! We are always interested in
learning what our movie corner's demographics are, so we ask you to include your name and age in your
email request. You can make up a name, but if you can include your actual age, it would be a huge help to us.
