We thought we'd help other indie film and video makers by offering this FREE service for their aspiring projects. Generating a marketing packet is easier when you have quotes from critics' reviews to include, and now Brian and Benn's Movie Corner is the place to start. Before you submit your motion picture for a posted review and discussion on Brian and Benn's MP3 Movie Talk Show, please read through the guidelines below.
- Email Us First! Before you drop your material in the
U.S. Postal Service, you must first send us an email requesting to submit. This email needs to include
your name, age, phone number, city and state/province. In addition, the following information regarding
your motion picture must be included: title of the motion picture, running time, name of production company,
names of producer(s), names of director(s), a breif synopsis, genre, completion date (month/year), any
URLs relating to the project. After DockRatEnt.com has a chance to look over your request, you will be
given instructions on what materials to send for review and where.
- Your Movie Must Be at Least 30 Minutes! For this service,
B&BMC is willing to review motion pictures running a minimum of 30 minutes in length. If you have
a motion picture less than 30 minutes, DockRatEnt.com has other FREE promotional outlets
available for you, including the "Producers and Directors" page and the upcoming DR Short Video Cinema.
- VHS, DVD or MiniDV! Keep in mind, when we approve your
request for submission, you will be asked to send your motion picture on either VHS videocassette, DVD or
MiniDV cassette formats (NTSC). You may choose which format to submit your material on. Even though your material
may not be available on DVD at the time of submitting, B&BMC will post it alphabetically under "On DVD."
This will be until we hear you've landed that big distribution deal, and it is released into theaters. Then,
we will move it into "In Theaters."
- Don't Send Us Porn! We don't mind reviewing motion pictures
ABOUT the pornographic industry, but X-Rated adult movies and higher will not be approved for review. DockRatEnt.com
considers itself to be a family safe site, even though some of our reviews can be harsh at times. However, any
porn you want to send us as a gift is fine...hehe.
- Producers Submit Only! We only wish to have a motion picture's
producer(s) submit their project for review. We are only interested in receiving material from those persons
who manage and reserve all rights to the motion picture in question. If you worked as a gaffer on your
friend's movie, and have a copy you want to send us, have your friend make the request and submission.
Otherwise, we're not interested. We don't want copies of a producer(s) motion picture trailing off into
places they are not aware of. It is unfair and unprofessional to them.
- After Review, It's Returned or Detroyed! After B&BMC
posts a review for the motion picture you've submitted, the material will be destroyed so there are no
bootlegged copies of your movie circulating. However, if you wish to have the material mailed back to you, you
must include a check or money order for $10 USD for return shipping, or include an S.A.S.E. with suffienct
postage attached.
- Submissions Are First Come, First Serve! We will review submitted
motion pictures in the order they are received, especially when we receive an abundance of them. Be assured,
we will review and post your approved submission as fast as possible, but please don't send us a follow up email
asking, "Hey, where's the review for the movie I submitted?!" However, you are more than encouraged to post
ANY comment in the DockRatEnt.com guestbook.
- Submit as Many Movies as You Want! There's is no limit on the
amount of submission requests you make to us for more than one motion picture you have needing
press. However, only submit one motion picture at a time, and we ask you wait until THAT
title has been reviewed and posted before you make another request.
- North America Only, Sorry! At this time, DockRatEnt.com will only be offering this service to producer(s) mailing from the United States or Canada. However, don't be afraid to request a submission from countries outside of North America. We may be able to work something out with you.
