Another kid's movie brought to us by The Mouse is outstanding in its mediocrity and will be loved by the mass of children but the parents will have a hard time staying awake.

After ruining his reputation by declaring that the sky is falling, Chicken Little works hard to restore his reputation and his father's faith in him while trying to save the world from an invasion from outer space.

This movie is entertaining but not very original. The story is fairly basic with the conflict between child and community as well as the child and father conflict. I felt Zach Braff (Garden State) did a great job as the voice of Chicken Little but none of the other actors set themselves apart in terms of voice acting. I am beginning to wonder if it would be a better idea to bring in untapped talent, possibly people who are trained for voiceovers, as opposed to the Hollywood actors that have been pumped into the voice roles. The rest of the cast in this movie did nothing to make their characters their own. Something you have to do when doing a voice over. The biggest examples would be Robin Williams as the Genie, Michael Myers as Shrek, and maybe Tom Hanks and Tim Allen in Toy Story, and Eddie Murray as Donkey. Can you name any good voice actors that are also movie stars? For example, who was the father fish in Finding Nemo? What actor played the voice of John Smith in Pocahontas? Both are top line Hollywood actors and I bet very few people can name those two characters.

Anyway, coming back to this movie, I found the story to be very average and not very compelling. I don't really know why the baseball scene was at the beginning of the movie and not the end. To me it would have mad more sense at the end of the movie. I did enjoy the 80's and 90's music mix into the movie from time to time.

Overall I will say that kids will enjoy this movie a lot, obviously from the box office numbers, but the parents will have a hard time staying awake. Parents won't be able to keep kids from seeing this movie, but I suggest that both parents take the family, that way one can sleep and the other can watch the kids.
