When choosing what movie to go see at a movie theater, you have several possibilities. You can ask yourself, "Do I want to see a heartfelt drama? Do I want see a scary movie? Do I want to see action adventure, or do I want to leave my brain at home at watch something stupid and laugh a lot?" Well, if the last question is what you are in the mood for, then "Dodgeball" is your movie. This movie stars Vince Vaughn (Starsky and Hutch), Christine Taylor (The Wedding Singer) and the new king of the stupid funny movie Ben Stiller (Along Came Polly). The movie is good and entertaining and is just as much a docudrama as is "Fahrenheit 9/11."

The story is simple. Peter La Fleur, played by Vaughn, needs to earn $50,000 for his Average Joe's Gym or it will be bought out by White Goodman, played by Stiller, and his corporate gymnasium. So, La Fleur and his band of misfits enters a dodgeball tournament in order to earn the money. Goodman finds out and does the same. In between the game, Goodman and La Fleur are also competing for the love of Kate Veach, played by Stillers wife Christine Taylor. The rest is history with some funny cameo's from David Hasselhoff (TV's Baywatch) and multi Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong.

I have no complaints with the movie itself. No Academy Awards® will be won with the acting, neither for writing or directing by Rawson Marshall Thurber. He also wrote and directed the Terry Tate, Office Linebacker commercials. Having said that, I do have one small complaint. At the end of the credits, Ben Stiller does a stupid little song while playing with his incredibly large man breasts--when you see the movie, you will see the how and why's. Being an incredibly large fat guy, it brought a little chuckle and made me very self conscious in the movie theater. Stiller's intentions were good, so I can get over it. However, upon leaving the theater, it still left me not as happy as I was at the end of the movie itself. It's just more inspiration to work on my screenplay and to lose weight.

That being said, the movie is entertaining and fun. You probably wont find a funnier non-thinking movie, and its better to see this than that piece of crap made by Michael Moore.

Brian - the Naked Gun

I'm amazed at how many blows to the face one movie can show and still be funny every time. This picture is as funny as it is marketed to be, with solid deliveries from Vaughn, Stiller and the very quickly becoming HOT Christine Taylor.

I can't say much more than what Brian said. If you enjoy zany satires, this one is probably the best you'll see this year. I'm just glad it doesn't have yet another stupid dance number where Stiller gets to look like a total idiot, like in "Along Came Polly" and "Starsky and Hutch."
