Brian Felts Freddy Vs. Jason

I would argue this movie was an homage to all of the early 1940's and 1950's movies with all the classic movie monsters meeting and fighting each other. This movie will not make anybody forget about the good scary movies over the last 10 years--Were there any?, but it is not a bad movie if you can enjoy the humor of it.

Basically, Freddy is stuck in hell, because the parents which live on Elm Street have given their kids a drug, basically a dream inhibitor. Any kid who may have been in contact with Freddy has been put in an institution and given the same drug only with heavier dosage. So, Freddy decides to wake up Jason Voorhees and send him to Elm Street to make people remember Freddy and bring him back.

Jason goes and starts killing people, and they start to remember Freddy. Freddy is gaining strength and needs to start killing kids again to get back to full swing, but he cant. Jason is doing all the work for him. Freddy has to fight and kill Jason in order to get him to stop killing the children, so he can kill them. Mayhem ensues.

The cast has a bunch of young stars, Jason Ritter, son of the now deceased John Ritter--one of my favorite actors, Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child, Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street) of course, Monica Keena (TV's Dawson's Creek).

I guess a big deal to Jason fans was the character of Jason Voorhees was not done by Kane Hodder, who had been Jason since 1988 in "Friday the 13th Part VII." Jason was portrayed by Ken Kirzinger who was in a "Friday the 13th" movie but not as Jason.

The movie is quite humorous and isn't a bad film. I would love to say this will be the only time, and the last time, we will see the two of them together--or separate for that matter, but I am sure will we get a "Freddy vs. Jason 2: Rumble from Down Under."
