This review will be fairly short for one reason, I liked it, but I just cant tell you why. It's a Quentin Tarantino film (Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown), and that should some it up. I will have to see it again just to figure out what I saw. However, I do have a few disclaimers…

  1. If you don't like blood, don't see it.
  2. If you are squeamish about socially objectionable issues--say the rape scene in "Pulp Fiction", don't see it.
  3. The last one goes out to the dumb bastard who let his eight year old daughter see the movie. What the F**K were you thinking? Don't let any kids see the film unless you want to explain things like rape, pedophilia (sp?...and I don't want to know how to spell it), etc. Don't do it, or you are a dumb bastard too.
Other than that, go see the movie. It's real good. I just wish I knew why.

Brian-The Naked Gun

I must agree. This pictured is loaded with an immense amount of blood in a more than ridiculous fashion, and I loved it. This pic is truly one of the more guilty pleasures of the season. Director Quentin Tarantino revives his awkward style and mixes up punchy characters with comedy and almost cartoon-like violence.

Tarantino's strongest quality is in his story writing, as a tribute to the old Kung Fu flicks of the '70s. However, his dialogue in some scenes tends to wear dry. I couldn't count the amount of times the phrase "f**king b**ch" was used in one scene with Uma Thurman and Vivica A. Fox.

On the other hand, guilty pleasures is as guilty pleasures does, and I really found this pic refreshing, far better than Tarantino's last directing effort "Jackie Brown." At the very least, the story is compelling enough to die waiting for the release of "Kill Bill: Vol 2."
