Lover's Lane (1999)reviewed by Brian "The Naked Gun" Felts
The problem with this movie, well not the only problem, the movie itself is a problem anyway the problem with this movie is that it is wayyyyyyyyyy to dark. Not dark in story, but dark as in can't see anything. So I guess the good news is that since this movie sounds horrible and the plot line is horrible, the fact that you can't see it is a good thing.
A psychopath who killed a bunch of people on lover's lane 13 years before escapes from the prison/hospital where he was kept and returns to the same lovers lane to prey on the children of the people who put him away the first time.
If this project was a student film I would give it some props for attempting to try and make a horror film. That is the only way you could get away with how poorly lit is the film. If the director and cinematographer were not students, then they should go back to school because it obvious that they skipped the day that talked about lighting a film during the nighttime. The audience can not see anything the minute the sun goes down. Its hard to be scarred of anything when you can't see it.
The only reason I picked this film out is because it is Anna Farris's (My Super-Ex Girlfriend) second film. What little she was in could not save the film from its poor production quality and design. But she does wear a cheerleader outfit from beginning to end and that was kind of hot, but still not worth seeing this movie for.
Obviously this film is not worth seeing. Even if it was, you cant see it so I guess it doesn't matter anyway.
